Clockify is a time tracking application built by CAKE.com, a Palo Alto-based software company whose other products include the team chat app Pumble and the project planner Plaky. Clockify's free plan offered unlimited users for years, a differentiator against competitors that capped their free tiers at a handful of seats, but in April 2026 CAKE.com capped the Free plan at 5 users and moved features such as kiosk mode, billable hours, shared reports, project time estimates, and CSV/Excel export to paid tiers, citing the rising infrastructure cost of supporting unlimited free accounts; time tracking itself remains unlimited for those 5 users. A browser extension, desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and mobile apps for iOS and Android all sync to the same account, and an auto-tracker can log app and website usage in the background. Paid tiers layer on capability in stages: the Basic plan adds administrative controls such as bulk editing and required fields; Standard adds time-off tracking, invoicing, and timesheet locking; Pro adds shift scheduling, budget forecasting, GPS tracking, and screenshots; and Enterprise adds single sign-on and audit logging. CAKE.com also sells a bundle that combines Clockify's Enterprise tier with its Pumble and Plaky products at a discount versus buying each separately. Clockify publishes a public API and lists integrations with project management, accounting, and communication tools including Asana, QuickBooks, and Slack.
